Disability
Rights Unit (DRUM) Project
In December 2011, the Federation for
Disability organizations in Malawi (FEDOMA)
established the DRUM project with funding
from OSISA. DRUM is a human rights project
with the aim of establishing principles and
precedents that would ensure the protection
and promotion of the rights and fundamental
freedoms of persons with disabilities mainly
through casework and litigation.

Epilepsy in
Malawi Project
Epilepsy directly affects around 10 million
people in Africa and when left untreated can
have a major adverse impact on families and
communities.
Around 80% of the burden of epilepsy lies in
the developing world where knowledge and
access to treatment remains severely

Disability
Mainstreaming in Mangochi, Mzimba
In an effort to mainstream disability rights
in all government institutions, local
communities and within the society at large,
the Federation of Disability Organizations in
Malawi (FEDOMA) courted the District
Executive Committee (DEC)in Mangochi. and
Mzimba. The meetings, which took place in
2010, targeted various stakeholders working
in the districts.
